User Group follow-up
Many of you asked for us to host a demonstration of the GRM Recorder (A2) product in your area, so we’re excited to announce that we have already completed or planned presentations in three states so far.
The idea is to host the demonstration in a regional setting to allow broader discussions of how this product will apply to each state. Your account manager will be discussing upcoming plans for your region as we hope to complete this ‘tour’ in the first quarter of 2009.
Customer Update
Hurricane Season Finally Over 2008 was a challenging year for our customers located in hurricane prone areas – especially our Texas gulf customers. The good news is that through proper disaster preparation, the impact to the Recording offices was minimized. While power interruption was the major issue, most buildings and records faired well. This is a testament to the foresight of Texas Clerks & Recorders who saw the importance of disaster preparedness and recovery. Though the impact to our clients was minimal, the larger human effect remains. We hope 2009 brings a return to normalcy in Galveston, Jefferson, Liberty, Ft. Bend, and Shelby Counties.
If you have any questions or concerns about your own disaster readiness, please give us a call. It is always better to discuss contingencies in advance than realize the system was exposed after the fact. There are as many different options available as there are oil wells in Texas – Wade and the crew can help you evaluate the best options for your own circumstance.

Tech Tip
Advanced Security for your Public Access Terminals
Wondering why your public station home pages were bookmarked to RonPaul.com?
Or perhaps random web applications seem to be magically installing themselves.
Practice safe computing and lock your public stations down securely.
Manatron uses a product from SoftFolder called Advanced Security level. It is installed on each public machine and allows administrators to securely lock down a PC to prevent changes, yet it is easy to administer.
Contact your account manager if you would like additional information.
