PORTAGE, MI — March 22, 2010 - Manatron, Inc., a global leader in providing integrated, enterprise-level property tax and records management solutions for state and local governments, announced that both the Leelanau County Register of Deeds office and St. Joseph County, Michigan Register of Deeds and Clerk offices are now live on GRM Recorder. Both installations represent upgrades from Manatron legacy records management solutions.
With the combined work of both the Leelanau County staff and the Manatron Records Management team, a successful conversion from the legacy Manatron MIRRS solution was completed in just 35 days. This installation of GRM Recorder includes Land Records, and Public Access.
"One of our goals going into this conversion was to significantly cut down on turnaround time for our constituents coming into the office," said Sue Stoffel, Register of Deeds for Leelanau County. "With the GRM Recorder solution, recording is much quicker. We have reduced the time in which we receive a document to the time we return it from two weeks to two days. This is a definite improvement."
"With the installation of GRM Recorder, we have been able to improve some of our previous manual functions," added Dorothy Miller, Deputy Register of Deeds for Leelanau County. "Previously, people would bring documents in, and then the next day it would get scanned and indexed, and not verified until days later. Now I’m here waiting for the documents the same day they are recorded, and get them indexed and returned the next day. We are very pleased with the improved efficiency we are experiencing."
St. Joseph County converted to GRM Recorder from another Manatron legacy system – Anthem. The County’s Register of Deeds office was an Anthem customer running the Land Records and Public Access solutions. The upgrade to GRM Recorder includes the addition of the County Clerk’s office who will be utilizing GRM’s military discharges, plats and vitals modules.
Leelanau and St. Joseph Counties become the third and fourth Register of Deeds offices in Michigan to install GRM Recorder. Others include: Wayne County and Allegan County.
