Director's Message
It has been a really tough year so far; with the recession, contracting budgets, bailouts, bankruptcies, etc. Many of us feel blessed to simply have jobs.  What has inspired me through all of this is the compassion and grace our customers use when serving the public. I see my customers taking on Driver Licenses, not only to alleviate the inconvenience to their constituents caused by the closing of state facilities, but also knowing they can provide a higher level of service than the State at a lesser cost.  I speak with customers who are opting to allow partial payments, not because of the fee their office will earn, but because it will help their taxpayers who are running into hard financial times.  Then these same Collectors will advise the customers to sign up for the installment plan for the following year, because it will actually save them money.  I visit the Collector who reminds me that the box of tissues in his office is not for his use, but for the downtrodden taxpayers that come to seek his guidance with their bleak situations.

All of these acts are a reminder that as long as we continue to work together, doing what we can to help others, we will make it through these uncertain times and become better people for it. I want to let all of you know that Manatron is by your side. We will continue to
provide you with the software, service and support you require to make your offices run smoothly.  We will ALWAYS listen when there are issues and changes that need to be made. We truly appreciate your business and hope that we will all come out of this adversity a little stronger and wiser than before.

Manatron User Group Goes "International!"
This year's User Group Meeting will be held on July 16th & 17th at the Renaissance Tampa Hotel "International Plaza" - one of Tampa's newest and most luxurious hotels. Their exquisite restaurant, Pelagia Trattoria, features an open-air kitchen where you can watch award-winning Executive Chef Fabrizio Schenardi create mouth-watering Mediterranean cuisine. The lobby of the Renaissance Tampa Hotel International Plaza features a lush, open-air courtyard and a complimentary gourmet Olive Bar where guests can sample imported olives. Hotel amenities include an equipped gym with cardio equipment and free weights, whirlpool, swimming pool, and gift shop. International Plaza offers 200 amazing stores and 16 restaurants to occupy your non-meeting time.

We have also "teamed" with our partner Real Auction to hold our User Group meetings back-to-back to provide some economic relief for those traveling to both meetings.

Manatron welcomes our guests arriving on Wednesday, July 15th with a Hospitality Suite from 6-10 PM.  On July 16th, our meeting sessions will begin at 9 AM and continue to 5 PM and lunch will be provided.
Thursday evening we invite you to attend a reception with a performance by the band Three Pint Harmony featuring our very own Lisa Hargiss.

The Advisory Council will meet on July 17th to discuss the 2009 Tax Year, Forced Ranking List, CER's and election of Advisory Council officers.  Our meeting will adjourn at approximately 1 PM.

Value Adjustment Committee Update
We'd like to thank all those that participated in the Value Adjustment Committee Meetings.  The input we received was extremely helpful in setting our course and priorities for the changes required for displaying the values on your tax bills, reports, file layouts and web display.  Based on the consensus of the Committee, programming has begun and our plan is to make these changes available in the next scheduled release - V3.17 - well before Roll Conversion.  We'd also like to thank the Honorable Dale Summerford for keeping us updated on Legislative changes and the DOR's opinions regarding the formatting of tax bills.
